Standard you have to pay a co-pay, but you can choose your doctors. Prime you have no co-pay but have to use a MTF or someone appointed to you.

Isn't there another kind. For like those who move home for deployment or something. Its full prime but you can choose your own off post doctor.

tricare prime remote
in my opinion standard is good if you go to the doctor a lot, because you can pick your doctor. you have to pay co pays, but once you hit $1000 you don't have to pay anything until the new year.
with prime you don't pay anything ever, but you have to see military doctors or get referals.but you can change your PCM.
some people hate prime. i've had a handful of problems, but it's free and i like that better.
