Military Wife Confessions

We found out where we're moving to in March! I'm so excited and can't wait! =] Has anyone been to Buckley AFB? My husband wants to live off base, and recommendations? What do I need to do moving-wise?

My dad was stationed at Buckley back in the day and he REALLY didn't like it.

I would look into living ON base first.....I know he doesn't want to, but it really is the best option since it's your first duty station (and BAH went DOWN for that area...)

Moving-wise, you can't really do anything until he has his official orders!

SideNote-Your husband is Army or AF? I'm a little confused. He must be a helicopter mech. or something?

I live about an hour south of Buckley in Colordao Springs.  My husband is stationed at the USAF Academy here, but I go to Aurora a couple of times a year. 

Check the BAH charts for your BAH rates, because ours actually went up by $150 for 2010!  We live off base here, but the housing in Aurora/Denver area is a bit more expensive than it is here in the Springs.  Also, I'm not sure what kind of housing options Buckley has for on base housing, either.
