Okay so I just need some advice or reassurance...my husband has been in Hawaii since September 21st & our daughter & I were originally supposed to be going October 12th. We are still in NC & have not spoke to anyone about us getting to Hawaii. I know NOTHING about command sponsorship. My husband is doing a lot of training because he will be deploying in June...I am stuck in NC!!! I want to be able to spend time with my husband before he leaves &he needs to see his daughter! He has filled out all the paperwork that he needs to & he even went to JAG to see what the hold up is...nobody knows!!! What can I do or who can I call!?

Hmmmm.... are you and your daughter enrolled in DEERS? Do you have your military ID and have you been using Tricare? If yes, then you SHOULD becommand sponsored....

You and your daughter need to have this strange physical type check-up donebefore you can go. Have you done that? If not that could be whats holding things up. If you HAVE, then your husband needs to talk to his commander and go to the transportation office to get you tickets to get out there.

I don't believe JAG will have anything to do with it anyway.

Like Leola said, he needs to go to his commander and the transportation office.

Usually the medical paperwork that you have to get signed off is the last thing holding people back before they are officially command sponsored.

How did you (or what made you assume) that you would be coming here on October 12th?

We are enrolled in DEERS & I have used Tricare when I did my overseas screening but haven't used it yet with my daughter. I have my ID card. I thought I was command sponsored but I am new to the Army so I didn't know what exactly that even meant!? My husband said he checked and all our paperwork is in order. He went to his 1st Sergent so he could track the progress of us getting out there but I still know nothing!!! I had talked to a lady awhile back from Fort Bragg who said Jordan would have to go to JAG to get a POA for me to fill out the remaining paperwork since he is doing so much training and can not find the time; Jordan went to get the POA and they told him he didn't need it! I just don't know where I stand and if there is anything I can do to speed the progress along. October 12th was just the original date given to me after I sent in all my paperwork. The same lady from Fort Bragg said we would be able to go about 3 weeks after Jordan but here it is 3 months later :[

Oh my gosh, how frustrating for you! I understand what you are going through. My husband, daughter and I are pcsing to Hawaii on Friday and there was so much paperwork, and most of it he seemed to not even know about until after it needed to be done. Like, oh yeah, you need this and this and this, but there is like zero communication. I'm trying to think what else you could do, they didn't even know my daughter and I were supposed to be on my husband's orders, so he had to file a contract extension. He initially signed up for a 3-year contract, but it needed to be a 4-year contract in order for us to go over to Hawaii with him. And of course, whoever was supposed to be in charge of filing the contract extension paperwork was at some conference for two weeks. It seemed to take forever. We called Family Travel Services (808-655-4633/9272/1804) in Hawaii a bunch of  times and they were SO helpful. I have to say without their help, we probably still wouldn't have anything squared away. I think if anyone would know what to do it would be them. You might try giving them a call?

I talked to a lady today from Fort Bragg and she is supposed to be checking on our "status" and calling me back tomorrow!!! I am getting so excited now because it seems like things are finally rolling along with getting us there :] I have felt like there has been zero communication!!! I just feel stuck :[

Great news, I hope everything else goes smoothly!  Will they ship a car for you?  Pack your HHG's?
