Specific Locations/Dates/Times ect. could possibly harm a mission. Basically just put your mind in the body of somebody who want to harm our country and/or it's soldiers. Knowing how, when, and/or where our troops are doing a mission could give them the knowledge they needed to attack.

A lot of the time, you won't even be told enough info to worry about it too much. If you know someone's going on a mission just dont make it public. "My husband in Iraq is going on a 7-14 day mission tomorrow morning." NO GO. On a side note.... I heard they might be cutting off deployed soldiers' access to myspace and facebook because they get stupid and post things that clearly violate OPSEC....?

http://www.army.com/articles/item/3305 this article is very helpful about what you can and can't say, and should probably be made a sticky. and leola, when they told matt the day he was beggining he's journey home, he didn't even tell me. all he said was "sometime in the next 3 weeks, i will be on my way home." and then he didn't even tell me he was on his way until he was halfway home. he also told me though that the higher ups were watching everyone's myspace and that if they caught anyone with a ticker or anything that said when they were coming home, that person would get in some major shit, and the whole flight would stay an extra two weeks.
